Abstract
The study examined the extent of physical self-construal of men and women. There were 300 participants who completed an online survey that assessed physical self-construal and a variety of other personality measures. Correlations and Independent t-tests were used to analysis the results. Results were as predicted. Men have a higher physical self-construal than women, and athletes have a higher physical self-construal than non-athletes. In addition we validated the measure of physical self-construal by correlating it with other validated measures. Implications are discussed.
