Abstract

The buzz continues to grow over research apiculturist Tammy Horn's ongoing efforts to promote beekeeping on mine reclamation sites in Appalachian Kentucky. Horn's work with the Eastern Kentucky Environmental Research Institute was profiled in the article "In Appalachia, A Research Makes Honey from Coal" from the Nov. 15 2009 issue of the Chronicle of Higher Education.

Horn is the author of "Bees in America: How the Honey Bee Shaped a Nation," published in 2005.
