The EKU College of Education invites you to attend “Embracing Change”, a one day conference on March 27th held in the Perkins Conference Center on EKU’s main campus. Embracing Change Conference presents the latest research and innovations in policies and best practice related to equity, innovation and inclusion across educational settings. This conference has become one of the largest regional events to engage stakeholders to advance professional practice related to change. Past participants include government, academic, and private sector stakeholders.

The College of Education invites students, educators, policymakers, and administrators from all campus and community to participate in a conference that will prioritize our collective and shared responsibility for change. In addition to featured keynote speakers Renee Shaw and Dr. Aaron Thompson the conference will highlight research related to:

  • Augmentative and Alternative Communication (aac)
  • Impact of Trauma and the Conflict Cycle
  • Formative Assessment
  • Student Accommodations
  • PLC’s and Student Achievement

Conference sessions will be available in the following areas: P-12 education, counseling, equity and inclusion, communication disorders, ASLIE, and doctoral studies. A breakfast pastry bar and a buffet lunch will be provided with registration.

Continuing education credits will be available through EILA.
ASHA Certification Maintenance Hours will be offered.
The Counselor Education Program at Eastern Kentucky University (EKU) has been approved by NBCC as an Approved Continuing Education Provider, ACEP No. 4461. Programs that do not qualify for NBCC credit are clearly identified*. The Counselor Education Program at EKU is solely responsible for all aspects of the programs.
*NBCC Credit is only provided with counseling tracks.
Continuing education credits are pending approval through RID.
