Abstract
My thesis is my memoir, made of a compilation of essays that is arranged in chronological order, at least as it stands now. The essays themselves are different events from my life, from some of my earliest memories until high school. My thesis, at its core, is meant to shed light upon and (hopefully) explain the clash of cultures that I have experienced throughout my life. As a biracial child in the extremely conservative southeastern Kentucky, it’s evident that there are lessons to be learned, but at the core, my hope is that my thesis brings together an understanding of both cultures and how they relate to me.
