Abstract
Apothecary Elisiah Wickett has been forced to pack up all of his herbs and tinctures and move out of his village that the decaying magic of the land has nearly consumed. With his master dead, he has no choice but to embark on a journey to find a new home and a new purpose. His journey north towards the king’s city comes with consequence; the king has dedicated his time to ridding the land of magic users, such as the apothecary, and turning to making expensive medicine made of dragons, the most ancient beings in their world. As Elis journeys, the people begin to turn to him to save them, but what can he do with only the power to heal when they expect him to take a crown that he does not want but was born to wear?
