Abstract
During the Cold War era, the United States had an interest in preventing the spread of communism in Latin American. As a result of this, the United States government placed the promotion of Democracy within countries like Guatemala, Nicaragua, and El Salvador as a secondary objective. The United States government uplifted large multinational corporations in order to prevent communists’ leaders. Consequently, many dictatorial regimes came to power in these countries.
