Abstract
Medical tourism has seen an exponential growth in the past decade as nations are faced with economic struggles within their healthcare systems. An analysis of the industry, its history, and its previous condition, as well as factors influencing its growth, is provided in addition to a comprehensive look on both the beneficial and adverse effects to patients, and departure and arriving countries’ health systems.
