Abstract
Hormones in relation to psychological outcomes have been studied extensively. This literature review will break down the previous research about hormones in relation to masculine and feminine outcomes. Masculine outcomes are related to testosterone and feminine outcomes are related to estrogen. These results will then be connected to an individual’s self-construal and self-definition. Past research has looked at how testosterone and estrogen influence masculine and feminine outcomes. However, they have yet to conduct a study that looks at how these hormones influence an individual’s self-construal and self-definition. This literature aims to explain past research and then propose a study for future research that will examine this lacking information.
