Stress is a common struggle for many humans in all areas of life. While research has been done on the effects of stress, and the causes and effects of stress for college students, there is little research about college musicians. The current study examines the presence and causes of stress in EKU’s School of Music. Participants were asked to take a multiple-choice survey. The expected findings were most students are experiencing stress to some degree, their relationships are suffering due to the stress they experience from other areas students are experiencing imposter syndrome, and students experience performance anxiety. This examination informs the next steps to be taken for improving the well-being and academic resiliency of the students in the School of Music.
