Abstract
Something Horrible Happened: A Memoir and Expression of Grief is a creative research project combining art, photography, and poetry to express a grieving process. It is a memoir and thus primarily an expression of personal experience, but is written to allow room for readers to connect with their own grieving experiences. The creative production was supported by a research review of scholarship related to loss, grief, and design. Another of the supporting objectives of this project was to utilize color to create an additional layer of emotion in each piece. The primary purpose of this project is to provide a tool for those grieving to help process their feelings.
