Abstract
In an academic setting, it is not uncommon for individuals to have a self-perception of their abilities in various subjects. Traditionally, men have been viewed to be better in math and science fields than women which could create a self-fulfilling prophecy in these subject areas. Undergraduate men and women at Eastern Kentucky University were surveyed as part of a larger study, that examined their self-perceptions in various areas. This presentation will focus on the gender differences in intellect, although the findings show no significant difference in the GPAs.
