Abstract

This design was created for an assignment in Dr. Amber Chatelain's ADM 313 class "Apparel Design and Quality." For our design, we used a box pleat for the skirt of our paper garment. We utilized scrapbooking paper as a means to create the skirt, accenting and dividing two different patterns on the skirt with black lace. We created a top for the garment with black tulle, which we also used under the skirt to make the skirt appear as if it was fabric being lifted by layers of tulle. In reality, the structured paper allowed the skirt to billow out on its own.
