Abstract
Our team of university faculty and students have been in the field since 2015, collecting the stories and histories of Kentuckians involved in the mountain horse industry. While we have been able to speak with horse breeders and horse trainers form across the Commonwealth, our focus has been on capturing the stories and perspectives of those Kentuckians from the eastern Appalachian part of the state, where mountain horses mostly originated,
