Abstract
Over the past few years, the popularity of water sports, such especially kayaking and canoeing, has been on a rise. As more people engage in these activities, the importance for making these recreational activities adaptive also increases. The activities are being made adaptive to accommodate and support any individual with a physical disability. In participating in recreational activities, individuals with disabilities are provided new opportunities that can benefit their physical, mental, and emotional health. In addition, in making sports adaptive, the importance of inclusion and accessibility are also highlighted. Ultimately, adaptive kayaking and canoeing is not beneficial for one, but for every participant in the activity.
