Abstract
The purpose of this study was to examine the relationship between narcissism, aggression, and the need for power. We hypothesized that the need for power mediates the association between narcissism and aggression. An online study was given to 324 undergraduate students, who completed a self-report measure on the variables. The results show that the need for power fully mediated the relationship between narcissism and aggression. One implication of this could be that people working with high narcissistic and aggressive individuals could consider providing these individuals with a positive opportunity to influence others. The positive opportunity still allows these individuals to have the need for power; moreover, the aggressive behavior could change to a more positive behavior due to the opportunity.
