Abstract
Bacteriophage are viruses that have been around on planet Earth since the existence of bacteria. Phages are found in almost every area of the world and are the most abundant life form on earth. Due to this extremely high abundance, there are new phage that can be isolated, characterized and will contain new genes and gene arrangements. The purpose of the study is to capture, isolate, purify, and analyze aspects of the phage’s physical and molecular structure. Phage are especially important in the world of medicine because of how bacteria today continue to evolve and become resistant to the newest antibiotics. Phages are the natural killer of bacteria, and with further study of phages, can one day be used to combat bacteria that medicine no longer works.
