The University Building is the oldest building on the campus of Eastern Kentucky University. For Dr. Sweely’s ARH 498, U.S. Art History course, we each chose a campus building to research and depict in our own choice of media. The University Building was erected in 1874 and is also known as “Old Central.” Because of the building’s age and history, I wanted to depict it in a very respectful artistic manner. I decided to draw the building with minimal-to no colors added (artistic “minimalism”). I also decided to draw it standing alone–as it was when it was first constructed.
