Guidelines

Submissions

Articles must represent innovation in teaching and learning in higher education. Articles must be submitted exclusively to the Journal of Excellence in College Teaching and Learning. Manuscripts must be double-spaced with one-inch margins, paragraphs indented five spaces, pages clearly numbered, 12-point Times New Roman font, and should use the most current edition of The Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association. Upload an electronic copy to the Journal website.

Guidelines for Research, Theory, and Practice Papers respectively

  • Submit original manuscripts in MS Word documents to the Journal website.
  • Use APA style when preparing the manuscript. Please refer to the American Psychological Association Manual of Style, Sixth Edition.
  • Include an abstract of 200 - 250 words for research, theory, and practice.
  • Use one-inch margins and double-space your text.
  • The length of your manuscript should be between 3000 – 5000 words using Times New Roman, 12-point font.
  • Use a minimum of tables. Provide image - ready tables, figures, graphs, and charts on separate pages. Include only essential data in the tables, figures, graphs, and charts. Combine tables whenever possible.
  • Do not include author’s name(s), positions, titles, places of employment and mailing addresses on the cover page to safeguard anonymity.
  • Do not use generic masculine pronouns or other sexist terminology in your manuscript.

Guidelines for Media Review, Profile, and Commentary

  • Submit your original manuscripts in MS Word documents to the Journal website.

  • Use a minimum of tables. Submit image - ready tables, figures, graphs, and charts on separate pages. Include only essential data in the tables, figures, graphs, and charts. Combine tables whenever possible.

Artificial Intelligence Policy

The journal recognizes that artificial intelligence (AI) tools may be used in many parts of research and scholarly communication, including planning, literature-related work, data analysis, writing and revision, and the creation of visual or supplemental materials. AI may also assist reviewers with limited aspects of preparing their own comments, such as organization, language, transition, or tone.

Because AI use can vary substantially in purpose and influence, the journal requires authors and reviewers to disclose whether and how they used AI by completing the appropriate checklist. Authors must identify the tools used and disclose any AI use that meaningfully influenced the research methodology, analysis, findings, manuscript content, or visual materials. Authors and reviewers remain fully responsible for the originality, accuracy, ethical conduct, and integrity of their work.

Reviewers may use AI only in ways the preserve the confidentiality of the peer-review process and do not replace their independent reading, evaluation, or scholarly judgment. Manuscripts and other confidential submission materials must not be entered into AI tools. Reviewers remain fully responsible for the accuracy, integrity, judgments, and recommendations contained in their reviews.

These guidelines are intended to promote transparent and responsible AI use while preserving human accountability, research integrity, and the confidentiality of scholarly work.
